✧ How to seek forgiveness

أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ خَبَّابٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْفَضْلِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ قَاعِدًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الْغَفُورُ» حَتَّى عَدَّ الْعَادُّ فِي يَدِهِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ

Translation

✧ He was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said, “O Allah, forgive me; indeed You are the Accepter of Repentance, the Forgiving,” until the counter counted on his hand a hundred times.
