أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الدَّالَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُغِيرَةِ عُبَيْدٍ الْبَجَلِيِّ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي ذَرِبُ اللِّسَانِ قَدْ أَحْرَقْتُ أَهْلِي بِلِسَانِي؟ قَالَ «فَأَيْنَ أَنْتَ مِنَ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ إِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ فِي الْيَوْمِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ»

✧ I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, “Indeed I have a sharp tongue, and I have burned my family with my tongue.” He said, “Where are you with regard to seeking forgiveness? Indeed I seek Allah’s forgiveness and repent to Him a hundred times a day.”
