أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ
أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ أَحْرَقَنِي لِسَانِي وَذَكَرَ مِنْ ذَرَابِتِهِ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ قَالَ «فَأَيْنَ أَنْتَ مِنَ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ؟ إِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ فِي الْيَوْمِ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ»

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “My tongue has burned me” – and he mentioned its sharpness toward his family. He said, “Where are you with regard to seeking forgiveness? Indeed I seek Allah’s forgiveness a hundred times a day and repent to Him.”
