I heard Fatimah b. Qays say that her husband divorced her three times, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not grant her accommodation or maintenance. She said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ told me, 'When you have completed your waiting period, inform me.' So I informed him. Then Muawiyah, Abu Jahm, and Usamah b. Zayd proposed to marry her. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "As for Muawiyah, he is a poor man with no wealth. As for Abu Jahm, he is a man who habitually beats women. But ˹marry˺ Usamah b. Zayd!" She gestured with her hand like this, indicating Usamah ˹is like this and˺ Usamah ˹is like that˺. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told her: "Obedience to Allah and obedience to His Messenger is better for you." She said: So I married him, and I was pleased."
