أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ هُوَ الْأَصَمُّ، نا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، نا أَبُو إِدَامٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ، نا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي أَوْفَى،
قَالَ: كُنَّا جُلُوسًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَشِيَّةَ عَرَفَةَ فِي حَلْقَةٍ، فَقَالَ لِي: " لَا يَحِلُّ لِرَجُلٍ أَمْسَى قَاطِعَ رَحِمٍ إِلَّا قَامَ عَنَّا "، فَلَمْ يَقُمْ إِلَّا فَتًى كَانَ فِي أَقْصَى الْحَلْقَةِ، فَأَتَى خَالَةً لَهُ فَقَالَتْ: مَا جَاءَ بِكَ؟ هَذَا عَنْ أَمْرِكَ؟ فَأَخْبَرَهَا بِمَا قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ فَجَلَسَ فِي مَجْلِسِهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " مَا لِي لَمْ أَرَ أَحَدًا قَامَ مِنَ الْحَلْقَةِ غَيْرَكَ؟ " فَأَخْبَرَهُ بِمَا قَالَ لِخَالَتِهِ وَمَا قَالَتْ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: " اجْلِسْ، فَقَدْ أَحْسَنْتَ، إِلَّا أَنَّهَا لَا تَنْزِلُ الرَّحْمَةُ عَلَى قَوْمٍ فِيهِمْ قَاطِعُ رَحِمٍ "

So he told her what the Prophet ﷺ had said. Then he returned and sat in his place. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: "Why did I not see anyone get up from the circle except you?" So he told him what he had said to his aunt and what she had said to him. He said: "Sit down, you have done well. However, mercy does not descend upon a people among whom is one who cuts off family ties."
