وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ؓ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:
مُعَالَجَةُ مَلَكِ الْمَوْتِ أَشَدُّ مِنْ أَلْفِ ضَرْبَةٍ بِالسَّيْفِ، وَمَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ يَمُوتُ إِلَّا وَكُلُّ عِرْقٍ مِنْهُ يَأْلَمُ عَلَى حِدَةٍ. قَالَ الْحَارِثُ: أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ: وَبَشِّرْهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ فَإِنَّ الْكَرْبَ عَظِيمٌ، وَالْهَوْلَ شَدِيدٌ، وَأَقْرَبُ مَا يَكُونُ عَدُوُّ اللهِ مِنْهُ تِلْكَ السَّاعَةَ

✧ The pain of the Angel of Death is more severe than a thousand strikes with a sword. There is no believer who dies but every vein of his aches separately. Al-Harith said: I think he said: And give him glad tidings of Paradise, for the distress is great and the terror is severe, and the closest the enemy of God is to him is at that hour.
