وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ الْفَزَارِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْأَسَدِيِّ، عَنْ سَلْمِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ الْفُقَيْمِيِّ، قَالَ:
عَادَ سَلْمَانُ ؓ مَرِيضًا، فَرَآهُ قَدِ اشْتَدَّ فِي نَزْعِهِ فَقَالَ: يَا مَلَكَ الْمَوْتِ، ارْفُقْ بِهِ، فَإِنَّهُ مُؤْمِنٌ. فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ: إِنَّهُ يَقُولُ: إِنِّي بِكُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ رَفِيقٌ
Translation

✧ Salman ؓ visited a sick man and saw that he was in the throes of death. He said: O Angel of Death, be gentle with him, for he is a believer. The man said: He says, 'I am gentle with every believer.'
