✧ Shortening the Prayer During Travel and What Came About Combining Two Prayers

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ:

أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ: أَقْصُرُ إِلَى عَرَفَةَ ؟ قَالَ: لَا تَقْصُرِ الصَّلَاةَ إِلَّا مَسِيرَةَ الْيَوْمِ التَّامِّ

Translation

✧ A man asked Ibn 'Abbas ؓ: 'Should I shorten the prayer up to 'Arafah?' He said: 'Do not shorten the prayer except for a full day's journey.'
