وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ: حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَجَعْدَةُ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ - لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ - فَقَالَ:
ذَكَرُوا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَوْلَاةً لِبَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، فَقَالُوا: إِنَّهَا قَامَتِ اللَّيْلَ، وَصَامَتِ النَّهَارَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لَكِنِّي أَنَامُ وَأُصَلِّي، وَأَصُومُ وَأُفْطِرُ

✧ They mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a freedwoman of Banu 'Abd al-Muttalib, and they said: 'She stands in prayer at night and fasts during the day.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'But I sleep and pray, and I fast and break my fast.'
