✧ Ibn Sayyad and the Uncertainty Regarding His Being the Dajjal

وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ؓ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

يَكُونُ أَمَامَ الدَّجَّالِ سِنُونَ خَوَادِعُ، يَكْثُرُ فِيهَا الْمَطَرُ، وَيَقِلُّ فِيهَا النَّبْتُ، وَيُكَذَّبُ فِيهَا الصَّادِقُ، وَيُصَدَّقُ فِيهَا الْكَاذِبُ، وَيُؤْتَمَنُ فِيهَا الْخَائِنُ، وَيُخَوَّنُ فِيهَا الْأَمِينُ، وَتَنْطِقُ فِيهَا الرُّوَيْبِضَةُ، قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَمَا الرُّوَيْبِضَةُ ؟ قَالَ ﷺ: مَنْ لَا يُؤْبَهُ لَهُ

Translation

✧ Before the Dajjal there will be years of deception, in which rain will be abundant, vegetation will be scarce, the truthful will be belied, the liar will be believed, the treacherous will be trusted, the trustworthy will be betrayed, and the ruwaybidah will speak. It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is the ruwaybidah?" He ﷺ said: "The one who is not paid any attention to."
