✧ I was sitting with Mu'awiyah ؓ when two men entered disputing over the head of 'Ammar ؓ, each of them saying: 'I killed him.' 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr ؓ said: 'Let one of you be content to give it to his companion, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: The transgressing party will kill him.' Mu'awiyah ؓ said: 'Will you not spare us your madman, O 'Amr? What is the matter with him being with us?' He said: 'I am with you, but I do not fight. My father complained about me, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: Obey your father as long as he lives, and do not disobey him. So I am with you, but I do not fight.'
