✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us, and he mentioned a long hadith in which he said: "Whoever leads a people and they are pleased with him, and he is moderate with them in his presence, his recitation, his bowing, his prostration, and his sitting, then he will have the like of their rewards. And whoever is not moderate with them in that, his prayer will be returned to him and will not go beyond his collarbones, and he will be in the position of a tyrannical, transgressing ruler who did not act rightly toward his subjects and did not establish among them the command of Allah, Exalted is He." Then Ali b. Abi Talib ؓ said: "O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be your ransom, what is the position of the tyrannical, transgressing ruler who did not act rightly toward his subjects and did not establish among them the command of Allah, Exalted is He?" He ﷺ said: "He is the fourth of four, and he is the most severely punished of people on the Day of Resurrection: Iblis, Pharaoh, Qabil the killer of a soul, and the tyrannical ruler is their fourth."
