قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ ؓ، قَالَ:
خَرَجَتْ خَيْلٌ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَسَمِعَ بِهَا أُكَيْدِرُ دُومَةِ الْجَنْدَلِ، فَانْطَلَقَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ خَيْلَكَ انْطَلَقَتْ، وَإِنِّي خِفْتُ عَلَى أَرْضِي وَمَالِي، فَاكْتُبْ لِي كِتَابًا لَا يُتَعَرَّضُ لِشَيْءٍ هُوَ لِي، فَإِنِّي مُقِرٌّ بِالَّذِي عَلَيَّ مِنَ الْحَقِّ، فَكَتَبَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
Translation

✧ Cavalry of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out. Ukaydir of Dumat al-Jandal heard of it, so he went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have heard that your cavalry has set out, and I fear for my land and property. Write me a document that nothing belonging to me will be touched, for I acknowledge what is due from me.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote for him.
