قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، ثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنْ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ قَالَ:
( شَهِدْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ؓ بِمَكَّةَ، وَالْحَجَّاجُ مُحَاصِرٌ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ ؓ، وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ؓ بَيْنَهُمَا، فَكَانَ رُبَّمَا حَضَرَ الصَّلَاةَ مَعَ هَؤُلَاءِ، وَرُبَّمَا حَضَرَ [الصَّلَاةَ] مَعَ هَؤُلَاءِ

✧ I witnessed Abdullah b. Umar ؓ in Makkah while al-Hajjaj was besieging Ibn al-Zubayr ؓ, and Ibn Umar ؓ was between the two. Sometimes he attended the prayer with these, and sometimes he attended the prayer with those.
