قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، ثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ؓ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

وَفَدَ رَجُلٌ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: « أَلَا رَجُلٌ يَتَصَدَّقُ عَلَى هَذَا فَيُصَلِّي مَعَهُ ؟ » قَالَ: فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَصَلَّى مَعَهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: « هَذِهِ الْجَمَاعَةُ، وَهَؤُلَاءِ جَمَاعَةٌ

✧ A man came as a delegate, and the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Is there not a man who will give charity to this one and pray with him?' He said: A man stood and prayed with him, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'This is the congregation, and these are a congregation.'
