✧ May Allah have mercy on a person who is easy in selling, easy in buying, easy in taking, easy in giving, easy in settling debts, and easy in demanding repayment. Then he went on. I said to myself, 'Is this the Hashimite who has led people astray? Indeed, it is he!' I looked, and behold, he was a man with a handsome body, a broad forehead, a fine nose, and thin eyebrows. Behold, from the hollow of his throat to his navel was like a black thread of black hair, and he was between two worn garments. He said: He drew near to us and said, 'Peace be upon you.' We returned the greeting. I did not hesitate and said, 'By Allah, I will investigate this, for he speaks well.' I followed him and said, 'O Muhammad.' He turned fully to me and said, 'What do you want?' I said, 'Are you the one who has led people astray, destroyed them, and turned them away from what their fathers worshipped?' He said, 'That is Allah.' I said, 'What do you call to?' He said, 'I call Allah's servants to Allah.' He said: I said, 'What do you say?' He said, 'Do you bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, believe in what has been revealed to me, disbelieve in Al-Lat and Al-ʿUzza, establish prayer, and give zakah?' He said: I said, 'And what is zakah?' He said, 'Our rich give back to our poor.' He said: I said, 'What an excellent thing you call to.' He said: By then, there was no one on earth who breathed more hateful to me than him, and it was not long before he became dearer to me than my children, my parents, and all people. He said: I said, 'I have understood.' He said, 'You have understood?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Do you bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and believe in what has been revealed to me?' I said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah. I frequent a watering place where many people gather, and I will call them to what you have called me to, for I hope they will follow you.' He said, 'Yes, call them.' So the people of that watering place embraced Islam, men and women. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiped his head.
