✧ The Virtue of Zaynab bt. Jahsh, ᴿᴬ

وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ مُنْيَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ ؓ قَالَ:

كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ تِسْعُ نِسْوَةٍ، فَقَالَ ﷺ يَوْمًا: خَيْرُكُنَّ أَطْوَلُكُنَّ يَدًا، فَقَامَتْ كُلُّ وَاحِدَةٍ تَضَعُ يَدَهَا عَلَى الْجِدَارِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: لَسْتُ أَعْنِي هَذَا، وَلَكِنْ أَصْنَعَكُنَّ يَدَيْنِ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ had nine wives. One day he ﷺ said, "The best of you is the one with the longest hand." So each one stood and placed her hand against the wall. The Prophet ﷺ said, "I do not mean this; rather, the most generous of you in giving."
