وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، ثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ هُوَ ابْنُ بُرْقَانَ، عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، قَالَ:
إِنَّ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ ؓ جَاءَ، فَجَلَسَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى خَتَنَتِكَ خَطَبَهَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ فَأَبَتْهُ، فَقَالَ ﷺ: مَا مَنَعَهَا مِنْ عُمَرَ ؓ ؟ مَا بِالْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌ - إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ نَبِيٌّ - أَفْضَلَ مِنْ عُمَرَ ؓ قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ لِلَّذِي
