قَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي الرِّجَالِ، أَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَ:
كَانَ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ ؓ جَالِسًا فِي نَاحِيَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ، فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنْ بَعْضِ بُيُوتِهِ مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ، فَقَالَ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ ؓ، وَهُوَ فِي مَكَانِهِ: لَيْتَ شِعْرِي بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ غَلَبْتَنِي ؟ قَالَ: فَأَقْبَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، حَتَّى ضَرَبَ ظَهْرَهُ بِيَدِهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: غَلَبْتُكَ بِاللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ ؓ: أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ
Translation

✧ Abu Sufyan ؓ was sitting in a corner of the mosque when the Prophet ﷺ came out from one of his houses wrapped in a garment. Abu Sufyan ؓ said, while in his place, ‘I wonder by what means you have overcome me.’ He said, ‘Then the Prophet ﷺ came until he struck his back with his hand, then said, “I overcame you by God, the Mighty and Majestic.” He ؓ said, “I bear witness that you are the Messenger of God.”’
