وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ هُرْمُزَ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ:
كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ ؓ قَالَ: فَقَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ: وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ وَإِنْ زَنَى، وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قُلْتُ: إِنَّ النَّاسَ لَا يَقْرَؤُونَهَا هَكَذَا، فَأَعَادَهَا ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ، وَقَالَ: هَكَذَا قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

✧ I was with Abu al-Darda' ؓ and he recited to us this verse: "And for him who fears the standing before his Lord are two gardens," adding: "even if he committed adultery, even if he stole." I said: "People do not recite it like this." He repeated it three times and said: "This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited it."
