قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ: أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ لَيْثِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ هُوَ السَّخْتِيَانِيُّ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ

فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَا أَنْتَ بِمَلُومٍ قَالَ: قَالَ عَلِيٌّ ؓ: مَا نَزَلَتْ آيَةٌ كَانَتْ أَشَدَّ عَلَيْنَا مِنْهَا، وَلَا أَعْظَمَ عَلَيْنَا مِنْهَا، قُلْنَا: مَا هَذَا إِلَّا مِنْ سَخْطَةٍ أَوْ مَقْتٍ، حَتَّى أُنْزِلَتْ: وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ الذِّكْرَى تَنْفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَ: ذَكِّرْ بِالْقُرْآنِ

✧ Regarding the saying of the Exalted: 'So turn away from them, for you are not to blame' (51:54), he said: 'Ali ؓ said: No verse was revealed that was harder on us or greater on us than it. We said: This is nothing but displeasure or hatred, until it was revealed: 'And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers' (51:55). He said: Remind with the Qur'an.
