قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِشَامٍ، ثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ - ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ عَادٍ حَمَلَتِ الرِّيحُ أَهْلَ الْبَادِيَةِ بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ، وَمَوَاشِيهِمْ، فَلَمَّا رَفَعَتْهُمْ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ قَالُوا: هَذَا عَارِضٌ مُمْطِرُنَا قَالَ: فَأَكَبَّتِ الْبَادِيَةُ عَلَى الْحَاضِرَةِ

Translation

✧ When the day of 'Ad came, the wind carried the people of the desert with their wealth and their livestock. When it lifted them from the earth to the sky, they said, 'This is a cloud bringing us rain.' He said: 'So the desert was turned upside down upon the settled land.'
