✧ He said to his companions: "What do you say about these two verses: 'Indeed, those who say, "Our Lord is Allah" and then remain upright' and 'those who believe and do not mix their faith with wrongdoing'?" They said: "Those who say, 'Our Lord is Allah,' then act upon it, then remain upright upon His command." They said: "And those who believe and do not mix their faith with wrongdoing—they have not sinned." He said: "You have burdened it with something severe. 'Those who believe and do not mix their faith with wrongdoing'—he says: with shirk (associating partners with Allah). And 'those who say, "Our Lord is Allah," then remain upright upon it'—they did not deviate from it by shirk or anything else."
