✧ The Virtue of La Hawla wa La Quwwata illa Billah

وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا هُذَيْلٌ، ثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ بَيَانٍ السَّاحِلِيُّ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ؓ قَالَ:

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَوْمًا فَقُلْتُ: لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ. قَالَ ﷺ: « هَلْ تَدْرِي مَا تَفْسِيرُهَا ؟ » قُلْتُ: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ. قَالَ ﷺ: « لَا حَوْلَ عَنْ مَعْصِيَةِ اللهِ إِلَّا بِعِصْمَةِ اللهِ، وَلَا قُوَّةَ عَلَى طَاعَةِ اللهِ إِلَّا بِقُوَّةِ اللهِ، هَكَذَا

✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ one day and I said: There is no might and no power except with Allah. He ﷺ said: «Do you know its interpretation?» I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He ﷺ said: «There is no turning away from disobedience to Allah except with Allah's protection, and no strength to obey Allah except with Allah's might. Thus.»
