✧ The Virtue of Remembrance After the Morning and Afternoon Prayers

وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ؓ، فَذَكَرَهُ بِلَفْظِ:
لَأَنْ أُصَلِّيَ الْفَجْرَ وَأَجْلِسَ مَعَ قَوْمٍ يَذْكُرُونَ اللهَ تَعَالَى إِلَى طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ، أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ، وَلَأَنْ أُصَلِّيَ الْعَصْرَ وَأَجْلِسَ مَعَ قَوْمٍ يَذْكُرُونَ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَى غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ، أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ ( أَنْ ) أُعْتِقَ ثَمَانِيَةَ رِقَابٍ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، دِيَةُ كُلِّ رَقَبَةٍ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَلْفًا
Translation

✧ To pray the dawn prayer and sit with people who remember Allah, the Exalted, until sunrise is more beloved to me than what the sun has risen upon. And to pray the afternoon prayer and sit with people who remember Allah, Mighty and Majestic, until sunset is more beloved to me than freeing eight necks from the descendants of Ishmael, the blood money of each neck being twelve thousand.
