✧ The Virtue of Remembrance After the Morning and Afternoon Prayers

وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

( لَأَنْ أَقْعُدَ مَعَ قَوْمٍ يَذْكُرُونَ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ، أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أُعْتِقَ أَرْبَعَةً مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، وَلَأَنْ أَذْكُرَ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ( بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ ) حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ، أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أُعْتِقَ ثَمَانِيَةَ رِقَابٍ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ

Translation

✧ To sit with people who remember Allah, Mighty and Majestic, after the dawn prayer until the sun rises is more beloved to me than freeing four descendants of Ishmael. And to remember Allah, Mighty and Majestic, after the afternoon prayer until the sun sets is more beloved to me than freeing eight necks from the descendants of Ishmael.
