✧ The Virtue of Piety and God-Consciousness

حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ، ثَنَا مَيْسَرَةُ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ جَابَانَ، عَنْ لُقْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ ؓ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

« إِنَّ الْجَاهِلَ لَا يَكْشِفُ إِلَّا عَنْ سَوْءَةٍ، وَإِنْ كَانَ حَصِيفًا ظَرِيفًا عِنْدَ النَّاسِ، وَإِنَّ الْعَاقِلَ لَا يَكْشِفُ إِلَّا عَنْ فَضْلٍ وَإِنْ كَانَ عَيِيًّا مَهِينًا عِنْدَ النَّاسِ

Translation

✧ Indeed the ignorant one does not disclose anything but a fault, even if he is clever and witty in people's eyes. And the intelligent one does not disclose anything but virtue, even if he is inarticulate and despised in people's eyes.
