حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، ثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي سَوْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ حَدِيثًا قَالَ فِيهِ:

مَوْتُ الْعَالِمِ مُصِيبَةٌ لَا تُجْبَرُ، وَثُلْمَةٌ لَا تُسَدُّ، وَهُوَ نَجْمٌ طُمِسَ، مَوْتُ قَبِيلَةٍ أَيْسَرُ مِنْ مَوْتِ عَالِمٍ

Translation

✧ The death of a scholar is an irreparable calamity, and a gap that cannot be filled, and he is a star that has been extinguished. The death of a tribe is easier than the death of a scholar.
