✧ When Allah, Exalted is He, created the creation, settled the matter, and took the covenant of the prophets, and His Throne was upon the water, He took the people of the right with His right hand and the people of the left with His other hand, and both hands of the Most Merciful are right. Then He said: O people of the right, and they said: At Your service, our Lord, and at Your pleasure. He said: Am I not your Lord? They said: Yes. Then He said: O people of the left, and they said: At Your service, our Lord, and at Your pleasure. He said: Am I not your Lord? They said: Yes. Then He mixed some of them with others. Then one of them said: Our Lord, why did You mix us? He said: And they have deeds besides that which they are doing, up to His saying: We were heedless of this. Then He returned them to the loins of Adam ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah, Exalted is He, created the creation, settled the matter, took the covenant of the prophets, and His Throne was upon the water. The people of Paradise are its people, and the people of the Fire are its people. Then someone said: O Prophet of Allah, what are the deeds? He ﷺ said: That every people should act according to their station. 'Umar ؓ said: We strive. And it was said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the deeds, and they said: O Messenger of Allah, what do you think about deeds—are they something newly begun, or is it something already finished? He ﷺ said: Indeed, it is already finished.
