✧ Prohibition of Shedding the Blood of One Who Testifies That There Is No God but Allah

وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ، حَدَّثَنَا مَيْسَرَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ السَّعْدِيِّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ، قَالَا:

خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ حَدِيثًا طَوِيلًا، وَفِيهِ: أَلَا وَإِنَّ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، فَإِذَا قَالُوهَا عَصَمُوا مِنِّي دِمَاءَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ، إِلَّا بِحَقِّهَا، وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave us a sermon and mentioned a long hadith, in which he said: 'Indeed, my Lord, Mighty and Majestic, has commanded me to fight the people until they say: There is no god but Allah. If they say it, they protect from me their blood and their wealth, except by its right, and their reckoning is with Allah, Mighty and Majestic.'
