قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، قَالَ: إِنَّ عَائِشَةَ ؓ قَالَتْ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ:

إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَقْمَارٍ سَقَطْنَ فِي حُجْرَتِي، أَوْ قَالَ: فِي حِجْرِي، فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ؓ: خَيْرٌ. قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ: فَسَمِعْتُ النَّاسَ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ أَنَّهُ: لَمَّا دُفِنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَيْتِ عَائِشَةَ ؓ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ؓ: هَذَا أَحَدُ أَقْمَارِكِ، وَخَيْرُهَا

Translation

✧ I saw three moons fall into my chamber, or he said: into my lap. Abu Bakr ؓ said: Good. Yahya b. Sa'id al-Ansari said: I heard people saying that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was buried in the house of 'A'isha ؓ, Abu Bakr ؓ said: This is one of your moons, and the best of them.
