✧ Fair Treatment of Slaves, and What May Be Acquired of Them and of Animals

وَقَالَ الْحُمَيْدِيُّ: حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِيٌّ، عَنْ وَاصِلٍ، عَنْ هِلَالٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ مَوْلًى لِبَنِي هَاشِمٍ قَالَ: بَلَغَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

إِنَّ مِنْ شَرِّ رَقِيقِكُمُ السُّودَانَ، إِنْ جَاعُوا سَرَقُوا، وَإِنْ شَبِعُوا زَنَوْا

Translation

✧ Among the worst of your slaves are the blacks; if they are hungry they steal, and if they are full they commit adultery.
