حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ، ثَنَا عَتَّابُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ لُوطٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ ؓ، قَالَ:
كَثُرَتِ الْمَسَائِلُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنَّ لِكُلِّ سَبِيلٍ مَطِيَّةً وَبَيْعَةً وَحُجَّةً وَاضِحَةً، وَأَوْثَقُ النَّاسِ مَطِيَّةً، وَأَحْسَنُهُمْ دَلَالَةً وَمَعْرِفَةً بِالصِّحَّةِ أَفْضَلُهُمْ عَقْلًا
Translation

✧ The questions became many upon the Messenger of God ﷺ, so he said: O people, for every path there is a mount and an allegiance and a clear proof. The most reliable mount of people, the best of them in guidance and in knowledge of soundness, is the best of them in intellect.
