Translation

✧ Abu al-Darda' ؓ saw a man riding while a person was running behind him, so he said: "O so-and-so, if only you had carried this one behind you." He said: "Would I carry this 'ilj behind me?" He said: "Then if you had sent him to where you want." He said: "I did not do that." He said: "Then if you had taken a lighter one instead of him." He said: "I did not do that." He said: "Indeed I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'If a person runs behind someone while he is riding, Allah, the Exalted, will only increase him in distance.'"
