✧ I said to Ibn ʿAbbas ؓ: “I am a man eager for jihad, and there is no one of my people except that he has joined the garrisons or the jihad, except my parents,” or he said: “except my family and my two parents,” or he said: “my father is averse to that.” He looked at me and said: “A man will not have two parents and wake up treating them well except that a gate to Paradise is opened for him, and he will not spend the evening treating them well except that two gates of the gates of Paradise are opened for him.” He said: I said: “Treating them well?” He said: “Yes. And if there is only one, and he wakes up treating him well, a gate of the gates of Paradise is opened for him, and none of them is angry with him or one of them, so he ؓ continues until he is pleased.” I said: “Even if he was wronging him?” He said: “Even if he was wronging him.”
