✧ Moving from a plague-stricken land

قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ آلِ بَحِيرِ بْنِ رَيْسَانَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ:

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ أَرْضًا مِنْ أَرْضِنَا يُقَالُ لَهَا: أَبْيَنُ، هِيَ أَرْضُ مِيرَتِنَا وَرِيفِنَا، وَهِيَ وَبِيَّةٌ، فَقَالَ ﷺ: « دَعُوهَا ; فَإِنَّ مِنَ الْقَرَفِ التَّلَفَ

Translation

✧ “O Messenger of God, a land of ours called Abyan is the land of our provisions and our countryside, but it is pestilential.” He ﷺ said: “Leave it, for proximity to disease leads to ruin.”
