✧ When the caller calls to prayer, the gates of heaven are opened and supplication is answered. So whoever is afflicted by distress or hardship, let him wait for the caller. When he says 'Allāhu akbar,' he says 'Allāhu akbar.' When he bears witness, he bears witness. When he says 'Hayya ʿalā al-ṣalāh,' he says 'Hayya ʿalā al-ṣalāh.' When he says 'Hayya ʿalā al-falāḥ,' he says 'Hayya ʿalā al-falāḥ.' Then he says: 'O Allah, Lord of this perfect call, the call of truth that is answered—the call of truth and the word of piety—make us live upon it, cause us to die upon it, and resurrect us upon it. Make us among the best of its people in our living and our dying.' Then he asks Allah for his need.
