✧ When the caller to prayer calls, the gates of heaven are opened and supplication is answered. Whoever is afflicted by distress or hardship, let him wait for the caller. When he says the takbir, say the takbir. When he bears witness, bear witness. When he says, ‘Come to prayer,’ say, ‘Come to prayer.’ When he says, ‘Come to success,’ say, ‘Come to success.’ Then say: O Allah, Lord of this truthful, answered call—the call whose answer is sought—the call of truth and the word of piety, make us live by it, die by it, and raise us by it, and make us among the best of its people, living and dead. Then ask Allah for his need.
