✧ Henna for women: dyeing their hands

قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ ؓ، قَالَتْ:

إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَهِيَ تَخْتَضِبُ، فَقَالَ: هَلَّا يَا أُمَّ فُلَانٍ، هَكَذَا عَلَى ظَهْرِ كَفِّهِ، يَعْنِي النَّقْشَ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ entered upon her while she was applying henna, and he said, 'Why not, O mother of so-and-so, like this on the back of his hand,' meaning the pattern.
