وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الْقُرَشِيِّ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، قَالَ:

إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَمَرَ مُنَادِيًا فَنَادَى حِينَ انْتَهَى إِلَى الثَّنِيَّةِ، فَقَالَ: لَا تَجُوزُ شَهَادَةُ خَصْمٍ وَلَا ظَنِينٍ، وَالْيَمِينُ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ ordered a crier, who called out when he reached the mountain pass: The testimony of a litigant or one accused is not acceptable, and the oath is upon the defendant.
