حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ قَالَ:

كَتَبَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ شَهَادَةِ الصِّبْيَانِ فَقَالَ: لَا تَجُوزُ لِأَنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ مِمَّنْ تَرْضَوْنَ مِنَ الشُّهَدَاءِ، [وَعَنْ زَنْجٍ نَحَرُوا حِمَارًا أَنْ ضَمِنَ سَيِّدُهُمْ فَلَا قَطْعَ عَلَيْهِمْ]

✧ Abd Allah b. Abi Mulaykah wrote to Ibn Abbas ؓ asking him about the testimony of children. He replied: It is not acceptable, because Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says: from those whom you approve as witnesses. [And concerning black slaves who slaughtered a donkey, that if their master is made liable, there is no amputation for them.]
