✧ Kindness to the orphans of the mujahidin

قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ حُبَابٍ، ثَنَا عَيَّاشُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ الضَّمْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أُمِّ الْحَكَمِ، حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمِّي أُمُّ الْحَكَمِ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَدِمَ مِنْ بَعْضِ غَزَوَاتِهِ وَقَدْ أَصَابَ رَقِيقًا، فَذَهَبَتْ هِيَ وَأُخْتُهَا حَتَّى دَخَلَتَا عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ ؓ، فَذَهَبُوا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَأَلَتْهُ أَنْ يُحَدِّثَهُنَّ وَيَشْكِينَ إِلَيْهِ الْحَاجَةَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: سَبَقَكُنَّ يَتَامَى أَهْلِ بَدْرٍ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from one of his expeditions having captured some slaves. She and her sister went until they entered upon Fatimah ؓ, so they went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and she asked him to speak to them, and they complained to him of their need. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The orphans of the people of Badr have preceded you.'
