وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَخِي سُرَاقَةَ، عَنْ سُرَاقَةَ ؓ قَالَ:

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِالْجِعْرَانَةِ، فَجَعَلْتُ لَا أَمُرُّ عَلَى مِقْنَبٍ مِنْ مَقَانِبِ الْأَنْصَارِ إِلَّا قَرَعَ رَأْسِي، وَقَالُوا: إِلَيْكَ إِلَيْكَ، حَتَّى انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُهُ قُلْتُ: أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ. قَالَ ﷺ: نَعَمْ، الْيَوْمُ يَوْمُ وَفَاءٍ وَبِرٍّ وَصِدْقٍ

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ at al-Ji'ranah. I would not pass by any squadron of the Ansar but they struck my head and said: 'Away with you! Away with you!' until I reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When I saw him, I said: 'It is I, O Messenger of Allah.' He ﷺ said: 'Yes. Today is a day of loyalty, righteousness, and truth.'
