✧ A man from the people of the dhimma goaded the donkey of a Muslim woman, then seized her, but Awf b. Malik ؓ intervened between him and her, and struck him. He came to Umar ؓ and mentioned that to him. He summoned the woman and asked her, and she confirmed Awf ؓ. So he ordered that he be crucified. Then Umar ؓ said: O people, fear Allah regarding the protection of Muhammad ﷺ, so do not wrong them. Whoever among them does something like this, then there is no protection for him.
