✧ Silencing one who oversteps against the Imam

وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ قَالَ:

كَانَ بَيْنَ عُثْمَانَ وَعَائِشَةَ ؓ بَعْضُ الْأَمْرِ فَتَنَاوَلَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا صَاحِبَهُ، فَذَهَبَتْ عَائِشَةُ ؓ تَتَكَلَّمُ، فَكَبَّرَ عُثْمَانُ ؓ وَكَبَّرَ مَعَهُ النَّاسُ، فَفَعَلَ بِهَا ذَلِكَ مَرَّتَيْنِ لِكَيْلَا يُسْمَعَ كَلَامُهَا، فَلَمَّا رَأَتْ ذَلِكَ سَكَتَتْ

Translation

✧ There was some matter between Uthman and Aishah ؓ, and each of them spoke against the other. Aishah ؓ went to speak, but Uthman ؓ said the takbir, and the people said the takbir with him. He did that to her twice so that her words would not be heard. When she saw that, she fell silent.
