✧ A man passed by a mosque of the mosques of Banū Ḥanīfah, and their imam was reciting according to the recitation of Musaylimah: 'By the grinders, grinding; by the kneaders, kneading; by the bread-soakers, soaking; by the morsel-eaters, eating.' ʿAbd Allāh sent for them, and they were brought: seventy men reciting according to the recitation of Musaylimah. ʿAbd Allāh ؓ said: 'We cannot restrain Satan from these people. Send them off to Syria, perhaps Allah Almighty will destroy them by spear thrusts and plague.'
