وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثَنَا وَهْبٌ، ثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ أَبِي يَزِيدَ الْمَدِينِيِّ قَالَ:

إِنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي بَيَاضَةَ أَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِوَسْقٍ مِنْ شَعِيرٍ، أَوْ قَالَ: نِصْفِ وَسْقٍ مِنْ شَعِيرٍ، شَكَّ أَيُّوبُ. فَأَعْطَاهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الَّذِي ظَاهَرَ مِنِ امْرَأَتِهِ فَقَالَ: « تَصَدَّقْ بِهَذَا ; فَإِنَّهُ يُجْزِئُ مَكَانَ كُلِّ نِصْفِ صَاعٍ مِنْ حِنْطَةٍ صَاعٌ مِنْ شَعِيرٍ

Translation

✧ A woman from Banu Bayadah sent to the Prophet ﷺ a wasq of barley, or he said: half a wasq of barley - Ayyub was uncertain. The Prophet ﷺ gave it to the one who had made zihar from his wife, and said: 'Give this as charity, for a sa' of barley suffices in place of half a sa' of wheat.'
