✧ The Husband's Right Over the Woman

وَقَالَ إِسْحَاقُ فِي مُسْنَدِهِ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيِّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ:

أَنَّ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ أَتَتْ أَبَاهَا تَشْكُو الزُّبَيْرَ، فَقَالَ لَهَا: « ارْجِعِي يَا بُنَيَّةُ، إِنْ صَبَرْتِ وَأَحْسَنْتِ صُحْبَتَهُ، ثُمَّ مَاتَ، فَلَمْ تَنْكِحِي بَعْدَهُ، وَدَخَلْتُمَا الْجَنَّةَ - كُنْتِ زَوْجَتَهُ

Translation

✧ Asmāʾ bint Abī Bakr came to her father complaining about al-Zubayr. He said to her: "Return, my little daughter. If you are patient and treat him well, then he dies, and you do not marry after him, and you both enter Paradise, you will be his wife."
