✧ Inheritance of the grandfather

الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ - يَعْنِي الطَّبَّاعَ - ثَنَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ أَبِي عِيسَى، قَالَ: إِنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ ؓ قَالَ لِعُمَرَ ؓ:

أَعْطَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْجَدَّ سُدُسَ الْمَالِ مَعَ الْوَلَدِ الذَّكَرِ، وَمَعَ الْأَخِ الْوَاحِدِ النِّصْفَ، وَمَعَ الِاثْنَيْنِ فَصَاعِدًا الثُّلُثَ، وَإِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ وَارِثٌ غَيْرُهُ فَأَعْطَاهُ الْمَالَ كُلَّهُ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave the grandfather one-sixth of the wealth along with a male child, and along with one brother half, and along with two or more one-third, and when there was no heir other than him, he gave him all the wealth.
