✧ The Creditor Has the Right to Speak, and the Virtue of One Who Pays His Debt

وَقَالَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ: حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ مَوْلَى يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ -:

انْطُلِقَ بِرَجُلٍ إِلَى بَابِ الْجَنَّةِ، فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ، فَإِذَا عَلَى بَابِ الْجَنَّةِ مَكْتُوبٌ: الصَّدَقَةُ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا، وَالْقَرْضُ الْوَاحِدُ بِثَمَانِيَةَ عَشَرَ ; لِأَنَّ صَاحِبَ الْقَرْضِ لَا يَأْتِيكَ إِلَّا وَهُوَ مُحْتَاجٌ، وَإِنَّ الصَّدَقَةَ رُبَّمَا وَقَعَتْ فِي يَدِ الْغَنِيِّ

Translation

✧ A man was taken to the gate of Paradise. He raised his head and saw written on the gate of Paradise: 'Charity is multiplied ten times, and a single loan is multiplied eighteen times, because the one seeking a loan does not come to you except while he is in need, whereas charity may fall into the hand of the rich.'
